Robert Korff

Robert Korff

Founding Principal, CEO

Robert has a unique ability to see past the surface of a project to discover the opportunity hidden within. He also recognizes the importance of strong relationships in this business; over the past 25 years, he has built and maintained strong relationships with tenants, lenders, investors, partners, and professionals alike. Robert founded Mark Development (MD) in 1990 after serving seven years as Executive Vice President of Acquisitions for Triangle Capital, a national, commercial real estate developer.

Robert’s vision and his passionate, hands-on leadership are the fundamental drivers of MD’s efficiency in acting on deals where time is of the essence. Currently, he is working on commercial developments in downtown Boston, Cambridge, and Newton.

Marc Steinberg

Principal

Marc co-founded the New York office of Mark Development, Inc. with Robert in 1997. He oversees all aspects of the company’s projects in the New York metropolitan area, including Westchester, Long Island, New Jersey, and Southern Connecticut. Marc handles everything from acquisition through final disposition.

Marc has extensive experience in single tenant triple net lease retail development having served as a preferred developer for Walgreens for over 20 years. Other clients include companies such as CVS, Chase Bank, TD Bank, QuickChek, Royal Farms, Wawa, Dash In and others.

Marc started his career as a licensed real estate broker who negotiated office space in Manhattan. He holds an MBA from the Stern School of Business at New York University, and a BS from Babson College. Marc’s passion for the business, combined with his dedication, knowledge and affable personality, have earned him an exceptional reputation in the real estate community. Marc is also an Ironman having completed Ironman Mont Tremblant (2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike and then a marathon - 26.2 miles).

Leslie Kivitz

Leslie Kivitz

General Counsel

Leslie Kivitz is General Counsel for Mark Development, responsible for legal representation in connection with all aspects of real estate development including acquisition, financing, leasing and sale transactions. Prior to joining MD, Leslie was a principal at Fellman Law Group, P.C. where she represented Mark Investment as outside counsel for the past twenty years. Leslie received her law degree from the University of Pennsylvania Law School and her undergraduate degree from Brown University.

Scott Lombardi

Vice President of Development

With an extensive background in construction management Scott brings a unique set of skills to the Mark Development team. Having worked on a wide range of complex projects across several market sectors and geographical regions Scott offers a wealth of construction and development knowledge. Most recently, Scott managed Mark Development’s Trio project in historic Newtonville, MA. This transformative development consisted of 140 luxury apartment units and 40,000 square feet of ground level retail. Prior to joining Mark Development Scott managed numerous complex mixed-use developments, including the Siena Condo project at Ink Block while with Cranshaw Construction. His responsibilities include pre-development planning, permitting, due-diligence, scheduling, and construction. He’s a LEED Accredited Professional with several USGBC certified projects under his belt.

Scott graduated from Tufts University with a BA in Economics where he was a 4-year varsity football letter winner. He continues to stay involved with his alma mater as an alumni admissions interviewer. Scott now resides in Sudbury with his wife and three children.

Daniel Korff

Daniel Korff

Acquisitions and Asset Management

Following in his father’s footsteps, Daniel became enamored by the excitement of the business at an early age. Today, as Mark Development’s financial analyst, he brings hard work and passion to the underwriting of potential acquisitions and the management of the company’s portfolio. His analyses of historic portfolio and property results in comparison to industry benchmarks are vital tools in evaluating performance. Daniel also analyzes all leases, capital projects, or other investment decisions impacting asset value, and assists in the reviews of the valuation models for select investments. In addition, he handles research and evaluation work, including tenant business and credit, acquisitions and dispositions, and more.

Daniel holds a BS from Lehigh University with a focus in real estate. Prior to Mark Development, he worked on JLL’s Boston Investment Sales team as an analyst primarily focused on the retail sector.
